A post in MVDBS & U2 & UniVerse

Well, at long last, the full name of UniVerse (and Unidata) has been changed.

It is now an IBM UniVerse 10.1.12 Extended Relational Data Server. I got this from the trials and beta page.

This is due to the addition of SOA technology to UniVerse in 10.2.

As you can develop full programs within UniVerse I would have thought that the term Application Server would have been more appropiate than Data Server.

But what the heck. It has been and increasingly so, more than a multivalue database.

But alas, the trialware still has not been updated to 10.2.
