S: Process and sorting

You're Reading: S: Process and sorting

A trick for beginners…

I was using a paragraph process to select, sort and return items from another file. I wanted to reverse the order of the items based on entry date/time. But do you think that I could get the descending ‘BY’ feature to work.

The line was:

EXEC 'S: SSELECT TRANS BY.DSND DATE BY.DSND TME WITH CLIENT.ID = "' : CLIENT.ID : '" (ARZ'

Can you spot it? A hint – I normally work with uniVerse…

OKies, it is the BY.DNSD sort expression. As SB+ is PICK flavour based, it should be BY-DNSD!

Had me for 1/2 hour – debugging and generating code and checking and stomping around the office.
